    Ok I start…Laugh

BTW, I like the the gilmourish site very much, and the idea to put similar pages here are a good idea IMOSmile

so for the album one, I have complied some ideas mainly based on Ingo's infos.

I've made an Excel file. I can send it to you Ingo, if you want.

I don't know what is more easy in terms of html/excel/word or so on.

I would be henoured to contribute to such a databaseEmbarassed

So, here an example of what could it be :

SONG Guitar Parts Played by Notes Channel Guitar switch PU select Amp Effects Others Played by
Down to the waterline Lead Mark   Left Maple Strat middle + bridge Roland Jazz chorus Delay (intro only) + Morley volume pedal
Rhythm David   Right Black Strat ?     Phasing
Water of love Lead Mark Slide / Open ? Left National Tricone
Rhythm/Lead Mark Open ? Center National Tricone
    Rhythm David   Right
Setting me up Lead Mark   Center Maple Strat middle + bridge
Rhythm Mark Open A Right Telcaster Thinline bridge
Rhythm David   Left Black Strat ?
Six blade knife Lead Mark   Center Maple Strat middle + bridge   Morley volume pedal
    Rhythm David     Black Strat ?
Southbound again Lead Mark   Center Maple Strat middle + bridge
Rhythm Mark   Left Maple Strat middle + bridge
Rhythm David   Right Black Strat ?
Sultans of swing Lead Mark   Center Maple Strat middle Roland Jazz chorus
Rhythm Mark   Left Maple Strat middle
Rhythm David   Right Black Strat ?
In the gallery Lead Mark   Center Maple Strat middle + bridge     Organ (on chorus) Mark, David, Muff Winwood ?
Rhythm Mark   Left Maple Strat middle + bridge
Rhythm David   Right Black Strat ?
Wild west end Lead Mark   Center Maple Strat middle + bridge   Morley volume pedal Piano Mark, David, Muff Winwood ?
Rhythm Mark Open ? Left National Tricone / Style O ?
Rhythm David   Right Acoustic (Ovation ?)
Lions Lead Mark   Center Maple Strat middle   Delay (outro only) + Morley volume pedal
Rhythm/Lead Mark   Right Maple Strat middle + bridge
Rhythm David   Left Black Strat ?

For now, I've just mlade apge for album one. When the definite version will be OK for everyone, I could duplicate the page for each album, and only change some contents.

Can evrybody makes comments, add ideas, columns, etc… and Ingo will decide what is best Smile

I know that my english is note very good, so feel free to change the columns titles, if they're note accurateEmbarassed

    some notes about album one:

    - for Mark's guitar, my guess is that the maple strat is more probalbly than the rosewood one because :

                      – around that time (feb-march 78), he used more this one

                      – the sound is much clear as on Communique, where I guess it's more the rosewood which he used more in late 78 (chorus, Rotterdam…)

    - I'm not a technical expert in amps, effects, and so on. So the contents I've writed, are note very accurate  in terms of models. Feel free to complete !Laugh

    Cool :)

I will figure out a solution for a proper table format ASAP

it seems your table destoyed the layout

(unfortunately I will not be at home this evening)

By the way, WordPress (the blog software) allows to give

particular rights to certain readers (e.g. author, editor, etc.)

so that many of us can work directly at the pages, maybe like a WIKI.

There might even be plug-in to add a proper WIKI functionality directly

into these pages, will check. Watch out for info update soon.

    OK,

    it could be a nice solution;

We could also use color code, e.g. one color for info confirmed by interview, other colors for speculation based on sound /video clip/ tour, etc…

For those who wants to see my table more properly, you can save it by a right clic on the pic of my 2nd post.

You save it on your computer, and then you can watch it in big size

    Smile

[edit Ingo: I reduced the picture size to restore the forum layout, you only need to click on the picture now to open it in a new browser tab in full size]

I meanwhile experimented with a WIKI plugin for this blog.

I created a first page here (still trying out things…):

WIKI page – gear on album one – track for track

These pages can be edited by all members of the WIKI group.

To become such a member, just let me know that you want to contribute and I will

add you to the group (you need to be registered for the blog/forum before)

What do you think of it? Is this a way to go?

Jean-Francois and me meanwhile launched a first version for album one and for Communiqué – maybe you want to have a look at the preliminary results (still under heavy construction).

Any suggestions, discussions or contributions will surely help.

The link above and the one from the gear page for all albums was meanwhile wrong. It is corrected and can be reached from the gear page (under Pages in the sidebar) now, or directly here.
